Magento is gearing up to release Magento 2 and that was the pivotal point for this meetup. This is the third Chennai Magento meetup. The first one was held in September 2014 and the second in March 2015. All three meetups received great response and enthusiastic participation from the Magento community.

Event sessions and discussions were focused on Magento 2 platform and its features. The meetup began with a presentation by Mahalakshmi on Magento 2 platform goals and its technologies. This session highlighted the advantages of the platform and gave an idea about migration to Magento 2.

This session was followed by a presentation from Abbas Ali on changes to the Magento 2 architecture. A detailed technical analysis was given on the changes to the structure of Magento 2 platform.

This session was followed by a discussion session on
- B2B commerce and Magento
- Challenges in Magento
- Promotions in Magento-Commerce
- Magento for small businesses.
Everyone participated eagerly and shared their point of view. This showcased the dynamics of the Magento market-place and how it is perceived and used in different ways by different types of users. Overall the discussion was animated and interesting and it was clear that there was a lot of expectations on Magento 2.

Based on their development and implementation experience, the participants shared their challenges and expectations on performance, features and functionalities. At the end of the day, it was a very informative session that added a lot of value to the understanding of Magento ecosystem.

The meetup provided a great platform for the Chennai Magento community to meet and exchange ideas. They wanted more such meet ups to be held regularly. We intend to make this meetup regular and bigger.
