On February 18th, the DCKAP LA team (Jared Gambatese, UX Designer and myself) headed down to Irvine, CA to join our colleagues at the BigCommerce Partner Summit.
We were treated to coffee and breakfast to fuel ourselves for a valuable and information packed day. Daniel Fertig, BigCommerce Global Director, and DCKAP Partner, kicked off the event with industry updates as well as BigCommerce’s positioning in the space. With the online landscape having evolved so much in such a short span, it’s critical to stay connected with your network. It’s not just to see how to get ahead and build your community up, but most importantly how to not get left behind in this era of constant and rapid innovation. It is indeed an exciting time to be in this entrepreneurial community.
After some valuable speaker sessions about BigCommerce’s roadmap, demos, shipping discussions, and Q&A, we were off to co-mingle and lunch. Post lunch, the event was divided into a Business or Developer focused session led by Karen White and Brian Adams, while Evan Smith and John Witson led the Business session. Jared and I joined our developer colleagues to a more intimate discussion on development workflow insights, Stencil, Webhooks and sharing experiences and tips amongst the close-knit group.
We look forward to attending more events this year and implementing our learnings from the community.
