P21WWUG Connect 2022

This conference is organized every year by the Prophet 21 WorldWide User Group board. It generously offers P21WWUG members from all across the world a venue to learn, socialize and make meaningful connections with each other.

There are opportunities to attend classes taught by fellow members, by Epicor directly, by third-party solution providers, and various guest speakers. This information is valuable to those working in IT and those who support P21 software, from Business Owners to Business Operations and various fields of Management alike.

Our own Karthik Chidambaram, Founder and CEO of DCKAP, had the opportunity to join our partners at EstesGroup on a panel discussion to contribute to the topic of P21 Platform Migration Best Practices. With his generous insights, he was able to shed some light on successful cloud migrations and how to best navigate and succeed on that journey.

P21WWUG Connect - Karthik

This year, P21WWUG Connect took place in San Antonio, Texas at the JW Marriott resort, a venue on 600 acres of oak-covered hills, known for its scenic views and unparalleled luxury in Texas Hill Country. With wineries and natural caverns nearby, along with a world-renowned golf course on the grounds, it was one of the best areas to offer such a world-class event.

Each year, the User Group also organizes an offsite networking gathering. This year was just as entertaining and fun to participate in as those in the past, taking place at Knibbe Ranch in nearby Spring Branch, Texas. It was a true Texan experience, with a smokey bbq meal, country music, line dancing entertainment, and even lasso lessons with cattle surrounding the fields. The star behind organizing these events from start to finish, Cheryl Wilson-Richardson, works hard to make it a streamlined experience overall and really showcases how to embrace the local environment while offering attendees some after-hours fun!

This year’s event was even more special to us, as we took our participation to the next level, having the honor of hosting a pre-event alongside our partners at EstesGroup, to offer various attendees the opportunity to Walk for Charity. Not only was it fun to get together with the community for some breakfast and networking before the conference began, each mile walked went towards a cumulative donation made in the name of the Save the Children foundation. (Keep watch for an announcement of the total contribution coming soon!)

Why Do We Attend?

Those who go, know! In an environment like distribution, with so many constantly changing variables to wade through and a plethora of considerations for growth, as well as various issues to find solutions for, having a resource such as P21WWUG Connect is invaluable.

At DCKAP, we have been fortunate to sponsor and attend the annual P21WWUG Connect event over the past six years. With many of our clients working with Epicor’s Prophet 21 ERP software, our DCKAP Integrator has been a great tool of support, offering them a middleware solution that improves efficiency and ultimately helps them to grow their distribution businesses.

At the conference, we ensure that all users know about the DCKAP team and the kind of advantage our solution offers them, and we also learn a great deal about their current state of business, ideal goals, and pain points being experienced by current users.

In addition, many of our partners like Americaneagle.com and Avalara are there to educate users on their own services and solutions, and being surrounded by industry experts such as this also helps us to better understand the current environment and the level of support available in many different areas. We strive to be leaders in front of the solutions we develop and support our clients with, and to work alongside partners that complement our solutions and share within the larger partner ecosystem.

What Do We Take Away From Attending?

It is an educational experience, as well as an opportunity to meet, learn and grow from each other. As experts in our specific fields all gathered together, this event not only helps the users of P21 to improve their experience with Epicor’s software directly, but it also helps those in attendance to find commonality and resources that can directly benefit their growth plans.

At the same time, we highly value the kinds of meaningful conversations that are born from this event, ranging from industry specific strategies, to the future of ecommerce, to shared lessons and referrals that can help make business better for everyone.

We’re proud to be part of the community, and honored to have cultivated such a meaningful relationship with P21WWUG and the users they serve. Each year, we take away even more valuable information that helps us to continue improving the experience for our P21 clients, our growing partner community, those seeking to improve their ecommerce and those just beginning their digital commerce journey.

Thanks to our partners for their support, and to all those who came to our Walk for Charity event, as well as all those who came by to chat with us at our booth and to take home some swag. As usual, everyone seemed to enjoy our world famous rhino plushies. Inspired by the two real-life Greater One-Horned Rhino mascots, Ramu and Rhine, that we adopted from Arignar Anna Zoological Park in India, we were once again completely cleaned out by the end of the event.

We’re looking forward to next year, continuing to innovate and support the P21WWUG and the Epicor P21 community wherever we can, and making even more valuable connections!
