How Backflow Parts USA Streamlined Its Order Management
About the Company
Backflow Parts USA has been a trusted name in the backflow industry for decades. As a Master Parts Distributor, the company supplies a wide range of backflow parts and devices from leading brands including Watts, Febco, Wilkins, Ames, and Conbraco.
In addition to these, Backflow Parts USA also offers an extensive selection of related products such as ball valves, gate valves, test kits, and brass fittings. Known for their deep industry knowledge and customer-focused approach, their team continues to provide reliable support and expertise to help customers find exactly what they need.
Why They Needed Integration
Backflow Parts USA had DDI System’s Inform ERP and Extensiv for warehouse management and handling 3PL data. While both systems were effective individually, they weren’t communicating seamlessly with each other. Every time a new order was created or shipping details were updated in DDI Inform, the same information had to be entered manually into Extensiv.
This process was time-consuming and prone to delays, as the warehouse team had to constantly move between systems to keep data consistent. These manual updates risked affecting productivity, especially during periods of high order volume. The company wanted a more automated and reliable process to sync data between their ERP and warehouse system. Something that could eliminate repetitive tasks and reduce the risk of human error.
Solution
When Backflow Parts USA approached DCKAP for this integration, the initial plan was to connect DDI Inform and Extensiv using APIs. However, the specific order pipeline they needed to automate wasn’t supported through Inform’s API at that time. To overcome this limitation, the integration team implemented an FTP-based connection between DDI Inform and Extensiv, enabling smooth and secure data transfer between the two systems.
This setup allowed Backflow Parts USA to move closer to their goal of achieving real-time synchronization and operational efficiency, without relying on manual data entry.
DCKAP Integrator connected Inform ERP with Extensiv through a Batch Sync setup. This integration pipeline ensured that sales orders from DDI Inform were automatically synced to Extensiv as soon as updates occurred within the ERP.
The Impact
The integration created a noticeable shift in how their operations ran day to day. With DDI Inform and Extensiv now connected, sales orders moved automatically between systems without anyone needing to re-enter information.
What used to take time and constant checking started happening quietly in the background are now faster, cleaner, and without errors.
The warehouse team could rely on accurate data every time, which meant fewer delays and smoother coordination across departments. Instead of focusing on manual updates, the team at Backflow Parts USA could turn their attention to fulfilling orders and improving customer experience.
