It was a pleasant surprise when a week back Magento announced that it will hold its first ever Magento Live India event on May 2, 2017, at The Leela Palace, in Bengaluru. In fact, this will be the first event to be officially organized on Magento…by Magento!

The Magento Live India 2017 event will be held in Bengaluru, the silicon valley of India that houses some of the top multinational companies from around the world. In this vibrant city, we will count the presence of Magento leaders and excellent speakers from the Magento community.

1. India is one of the world’s emerging markets in terms of e-commerce
Morgan and Stanley’s report predicts that Indian eCommerce market size will be around $159 billion by 2020. India’s e-Commerce revenue is expected to jump from $30 billion in 2016 to $120 billion in 2020, growing at an annual rate of 51%, the highest in the world, according to a joint ASSOCHAM-Forrester study paper.
2. Huge Magento developer community
The Magento certification directory lists around 831 Magento certified professionals from India, that is just two less than the United States. Apart from this, there are many meetup groups and developer groups in India. Chennai Magento Meetup group organized by DCKAP has around 364 members, one of the largest in the meetup groups.
