Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association (CMTA) is a nonprofit association that provides information and support to patients suffering from Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disorder. CMTA is comprised of a governing Board of Directors and a Medical Advisory Board consisting of over 50 clinical and research medical professionals. CMTA currently has more than 20,000 patients, doctors and other medical professionals who are committed to supporting people suffering from CMT. In order to increase its reach with current patients and potential patients CMTA sought to achieve a strong online presence that would help patients receive the right treatment and support.
We at DCKAP believed that a strong online community would help CMTA reach patients across the globe and provide them with the necessary support. For that very reason, our Joomla developers designed a web portal that provides information regarding the CMT disease and ways to overcome it. This web portal also consists of a custom JomSocial module which helps form separate online groups that act as a medium between the patients and the doctors.
