On Friday, 13th of April 2012, here at DCKAP we welcomed the Tamil New Year. The important aspect of the day is the viewing of, “Kani” in the morning. Kani consists of several ritualistic items like mirror, fruits, flowers, turmeric, kumkum and money.
It is believed that viewing, “Kani” on the first day of Tamil New Year would enrich the entire year with prosperity.
This Tamil New Year other than just cherishing the greatness of Tamil, we brought all our employees together to have a gala time as one family.
Our employees, who looked eye catchy in their traditional dhotis and sarees, did various fun activities.
The event was started with the lighting of traditional lamp and a Bharathanatyam performance.
This was followed by a debate over an interesting topic of, “Who spends unnecessarily? Boys or Girls” and then there were skits, mimicries and role plays.
Apart from this our employees showcased other various musical talents like singing and playing guitar.
There was a Rangoli competition conducted where our employees both men and women participated enthusiastically. Thus this New Year indeed had a joyous start.
